The plan was to go to stop by Joann’s for their Midnight Madness sale and then eat at a sandwich place I’ve been wanting to try. However, Joann’s was SO crowded, so it took longer than expected. We were on our way to the restaurant when just down the street we came across the Diamond Jamboree shopping center and we were lured in by its convenience. We ended up eating Bimbimbap and Japchae ($6.99 each) in Sobahn Express, located in the food court of H Mart. They both came in a hot stone bowl, and D declared it the best Korean meal he has ever eaten. OK, I guess most Koreans would take offense at that statement, but it was good.
The hot stone bowls come in heavy wooden boxes. They brought ours to the table even though it seems like they made everyone else come pick them up. Maybe because we had two little ones?
k enjoyed the food too. It wasn’t too spicy, since we didn’t add the hot sauce to her portion.
The parking lot was pretty crazy, just like everyone complains about. D said being there reminded him of Berkeley because there were so many Koreans. We’re looking forward to try the other places.
