I find it troubling that D has this many pairs of Asics. Granted, the green pair is mine, but is this really necessary? D claims that running is a relatively “cheap” sport, which I guess is true. Still…I don’t really believe he needs a pair every 4-5 months. I recently bought the green Asics because D seemed to be such a believer in them. He really has brand loyalty to Asics, and now I can see why! I think they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I didn’t even buy the fancy model, either. I figured that wasn’t really necessary since I’m not doing hard core running in them, just the elliptical machine and running errands. 🙂

If D believes the shoes are only good for 4 months, then he only needs 2 pairs–the current new pair and the old pair for those muddy days of running. He should bless someone else with the older pairs of shoes…someone who is not so particular. This would also save space on your shoe rack.
Let me explain. A couple of the pairs in the picture are new, and haven’t been worn yet. D found some good deals, so he is stock-piling. He has a pair for running, and an old pair for when he isn’t running. He also just gave away another pair to our church’s rummage sale. So, they will be given to a good cause, eventually.
You have just convinced me to buy a pair of Asics before moving to London. I won’t be running, but will do a LOT of walking for sure.
